About Our Shoplifting/Stoplifting Programs For Adults & Juveniles
Shoplifting occurs for more than the few assumed reasons. Young people are the greatest offenders simply because of the lack of understanding of the personal legal consequences to themselves and their loved ones and the effects on society it has. With the economy the way it is at this time it can be a misguided way of stretching the family budget as well. It may be an emotional outlet of some kind. Whatever the reason the cost can be greater than one could imagine, which means some kind of Pain.
This program is an eye opening program that gives beginning offenders of all ages food for thought that motivates change in behavior. And yes, all ages 8 to 80. Shoplifting can be more than a need or greed issue.
This Stoplifting program is an all day Saturday workshop for both adults and juveniles.It can be given to local groups at their location if desired as a form of preventive maintenance awareness and food for thought.We have Juvenile classes for those between the ages of 8 and 15 yrs of age for shoplifting.This class must be attended by the Juvenile alongwith their parent or legal guardian only when mandated by the Court.
If any adult or juvenile has an issue with not understanding English they must bring a translator over the age of 18 yrs of age to translate the information to them. The Stoplifting program has been in existence since 1981 and has an extremely high success rate as far as very minimal repeat offenders.
We are not Judges, we do not judge anyone or do blame. Confidentiality is always in play with the exception of child abuse. Love yourself & your Freedom.
Theft, stealing, to con someone, or borrow without asking, taking what does not belong to you for whatever reason you believe tbe “a reason” does damage to our society as a whole when done in commercial stores and to individuals… It can cause hurt, pain, stress and anger or all of these feelings to “us” the victims and gives us the feeling of being violated. Taking what doesn’t belong to us seems to go back since the beginning of time and is also two of the Ten Commandments … ” Thou Shall Not Steal” & “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors’ possessions”. This shows you just how far back this problem goes.
In our nation there is a great abundance of products to be had and often there may be a lack of understanding of the effects that the unacceptable choice of stealing has on all of us. There can be a better understanding of morals, ethics, and effects that can be given as well as the negative consequences and cost to all, both emotionally and monetarily.This is our goal. .. what kind of world do you want to live in?What will you teach your children, who are your legacy?
Advertising influences many of us and we seem to be a nation of “keeping up with the Jones” in as much as having”things,” instant gratification, feelings of entitlement, and in general keeping an “acceptable social status.”
The current statistics show that in 2008 about 38 billion dollars worth of goods were stolen in the US which makes us believe that many people especially the young believe that is is “OK” to steal. Merchants are now trying very hard to let all consumers know they’re being watched as a result of this massive increase of theft. Know that stealing can be more than Need or Greed.
We are giving awareness, techniques and strategies for anyone to use if they choose to make change in their behavior happen, or suffer the consequences that can cause pain to them and their loved ones in their lifetime.
